Twin your toilet
“2.3 billion people don’t have somewhere safe to go to the toilet. That’s more than a third of the people on the planet.”
We’re proud to support Toilet Twinning, who are working to change this.
Toilet Twinning is a water and sanitation charity initiative that provides clean water, basic sanitation, and hygiene education in poverty-stricken communities overseas.
Why we are supporting Toilet Twinning
We think the need for this fundamental service is crystal clear – the statistics speak for themselves.
It’s shocking that such a high number of people in developing countries don’t have access to decent, healthy sanitation – something that most of us in the UK simply take for granted.
Following the twinning of our showroom toilet with a latrine in Lupaya, Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa, in November 2017 (World Toilet Day!), we want to continue to support the vital work of this amazing charity. The details of our scheme feature in this Bristol Post article: “A Redland toilet has been ‘twinned’ with a toilet in the Congo”.

How we support Toilet Twinning
We want to work with you, our customers, to create gorgeous bespoke bathrooms that meet all your needs and are a pleasure to use, whilst helping meet the needs of others. We also provide the full range of plumbing solutions to address any problems you may be having. So while we’re sorting out your problem or creating your dream room, you can ask us about Toilet Twinning, and at the end we’ll offer you the option to make a contribution and we’ll match that £ for £.
How we can support Toilet Twinning together
For bathroom installations, why not twin your new toilet? It costs just £60 to twin your loo and in return, you’ll receive a certificate of your toilet’s twin, containing a photo, the latrine’s location and its GPS coordinates, to proudly display in your shiny new bathroom.
Just like we did with our showroom toilet…
Donations of less than £60 are also very welcome. Your donation will be added to other donations from MostynCooper customers and once we’ve reached £60, we’ll twin a toilet on your behalf and let you all know.
In the meantime, why not find out more about World Toilet Day (19th November) and some of the things we can all do to minimise our impact, with Low Carbon South West. Here Eden gives recommendations for quick wins that businesses can action to make their workplace more environmentally friendly – many of which apply to homes too. You can also find out more about what we’re doing to help the environment here.
